Jesus Christ: The First, The Last, The Eternal

By Anthony Smith Luke 17:20-17:24 Jesus Christ. The First, The Last, The Eternal. Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. There are many times in our lives where we ask ourselves the question; What is my purpose in Life? And there are some who make a living, telling others exactly what it is. Many write books covering the subject and others make movies and presentations, but none really address the answer very clearly. Haven you seen time after time children killing themselves because they say that there is no purpose in their lives? The demands of this life time and especially of this upcoming generation is weighing down many a persons spirit, cutting them to the bone, not leaving them any recourse but to go with the flow, being swept away with peer pressure and company abuse. So what is the answer, is it in a book, a movie, a presentation or a single mans idea of life? No, The answer is in Jesus. Lets read a little Scripture and look at the Son of Man. Luke 17:20-24, And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. Counselors, psychriacrist and others say they know what people need, but they never mention Jesus. Jesus, The Son of Man, Son of God, Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Word, The Prince of Peace, The Lord of The Sabbath, The Christ, The Seeker of the Lost, The Avenger, The Rewarder, The First, The Last, The Eternal, The Faithful Witness,The First Begotten of the Dead, The prince of the Kings of the Earth, The Bright and Shining Star, The Alpha, The Omega, The First, The Last, The Morning Star, The Holder of The Key of David, and the Amen. Man writing book after book explaining what our purpose is in this life, giving us, theology, terminology, making trees, animals and even man gods to pray to and seek healing from. False hope, false doctrine, Idol worship and man science. Trying to explain our origin from science, evolution and revolution, new wave religions that can neither hear nor answer prayer. Mankind building up man as a demigod, searching our purpose from the stars and from the Big Bang Theory. Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Matthew 11:27 is a perfect place to start finding your purpose on this earth. You must be known of The Father, you must be recognized by the All Mighty, without Him there is no purpose in your life, except to die and be judged. Is your purpose in life to posses? James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Jer 17:11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool. Luke 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? The Bible says no. [Ref.Jam_1:6, Jam_1:7; Job_27:8-10, Job_35:12; Psa_18:41, Psa_66:18, Psa_66:19; Pro_1:28, Pro_15:8; Pro_21:13, Pro_21:27; Isa_1:15, Isa_1:16; Jer_11:11, Jer_11:14, Jer_14:12; Mic_3:4; Zec_7:13;] Is our purpose in life to receive Glory from our name and position in life? John 7:18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. 1Co 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; 2Co 12:6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Phi 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) Well the Bible says no, mans glory is fading and foolish to try to achieve. Is our purpose in life to gain riches? Jesus said; Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! the deceitfulness of riches Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 1Ti 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; James 5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Rev 18:15-17 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, Well again the Bible says no. So then you ask, What is our purpose in life and who is this Son of Man, Jesus Christ? The answer is simple; Romans12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Our purpose in Life is to be a living sacrifice to God, to seek His Glory, His Wisdom, His Knowledge, His Acceptance as Children of The Almighty. Our purpose in Life is to Serve as our Saviour Served. Then can we also say that our purpose in life is not to be subject to ordinances? Col 2:20-23 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh. Can we also say then, that this Son of Man is a living word from God that is a guide to righteousness, to Glory, to Honor, to Life, not as we know it but a life eternal in Spirit and not in the flesh? A regenerative Spirit that leads us to God? Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. Mat 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Mat 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Jesus, The Son of Man, Son of God, Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Word, The Prince of Peace, The Lord of The Sabbath, The Christ, The Seeker of the Lost, The Avenger, The Rewarder, The First, The Last, The Eternal, The Faithful Witness, The First Begotten of the Dead, The prince of the Kings of the Earth, The Bright and Shining Star, The Alpha, The Omega, The First, The Last, The Morning Star, The Holder of The Key of David, and the Amen. 3 Important Effects of the Mediterranean Diet

By Ray Darken A Look at Research into the Benefits of the Mediterranean Diet Significant research studies have been undertaken since 1970 designed to isolate the benefits of the Mediterranean diet scheme. While the research into the possible benefits of the Mediterranean diet is ongoing and not yet complete, scientists, researchers and nutritionists from around the globe have concluded from their extensive research that the Mediterranean diet is beneficial on a number of levels: 1. Reducing the incidence of certain diseases 2. Increasing longevity 3. Providing for an overall healthier lifestyle The Mediterranean Diet and Disease Risk Reduction Over the course of the past thirty years, a significant amount of research has been undertaken to consider the possibility that the Mediterranean diet might be useful in lowering the incidence of certain types of diseases. A number of significant studies have been undertaken in this regard, including research that has included an analysis of the dining habits in people in different countries around the world over time. These studies initially were motivated by the fact that the people who populate the region surrounding the Mediterranean Sea tended to have lower incidents of different types of serious diseases that are on the increase in many different countries around the world. In this regard, researchers wanted to determine whether the reason the people of the Mediterranean region seemed to enjoy better health was environmentally driven or the result of their particular diet regimens. These studies have demonstrated that Mediterranean diet appears to be effective in lowering the incidence of certain types of diseases: 1. Cancer (including breast cancer and colorectal cancer) 2. Coronary Disease 3. Other Cardiovascular Disease 4. Hypertension The Mediterranean Diet and Increased Longevity Of course, it goes without saying that if a person is able to reduce the risks of certain diseases through his or her diet, that person has a far better chance of living a longer life. In addition, it has been demonstrated that the substantial benefits of the Mediterranean diet have a cumulative effect on and for the human body. What this means is that the longer a person follows the dining practices of the peoples of the Mediterranean region, the more ingrained the benefits of the diet become within the body. In simple terms, by utilizing and practicing the Mediterranean diet over time, a person will enjoy lasting benefits that will prolong his or her life. By way of example, one might consider the negative consequences of smoking. If you elect to smoke cigarettes over a long period of time, you will cause irreparable harm to your body. Conversely, if you diligently follow the guidelines of the Mediterranean diet over time, your body will enjoy definitive and lasting benefits that will include good health and a longer life. The Mediterranean Diet and Your General Health Research has demonstrated that people who follow the Mediterranean diet are afflicted with fewer minor ailments such as colds and the flu than are their counterparts who follow other types of dining routines. In short, and on many levels, research over the course of three decades that people who follow a Mediterranean diet are afflicted with fewer illnesses, have more energy and suffer from the effects of being overweight or obese far less often than people who utilized other dietary practices. Conclusion In summary, research suggests that the Mediterranean diet can provide you with solid and lasting benefits on three crucial fronts: 1. Lowering the risks of serious diseases and ailments 2. Adding years to your life 3. Keeping you healthy on a day to day basis Any one of these tremendous benefits warrants a person taking a close look at adopting the Mediterranean diet regimen into his or her daily routine. Planning a Theme Wedding

By Jean Neuhart Considering incorporating a theme into your wedding but are concerned over how time consuming or more expensive having a theme may be? Dont despair, having a theme wedding is easier than you think. Where to start The theme should suit both you and your fianc. Think about what you do together in your spare time. Are you into literature? Do you love to travel or go to the movies? Follow the NASCAR circuit? Even the season when youre getting married can suggest a theme. After youve chosen a theme, think about how much you want to incorporate it into your ceremony and reception. Having a theme wedding doesnt necessarily equate to being more expensive. The different elements which go into a wedding ie. favors, centerpieces, music, cake are present regardless of whether or not there is a theme. Decide if you want to go subtle with just a few theme-related elements, or go all out. Into literature? Select a beautiful love poem (you cant go wrong with Browning, Barrett or Shakespeare), for your ceremony reading. Give bookmarks as favors. If you love to travel, instead of using numbers, name each guest table after a different location youve visited, or plan to visit. For a sea/beach theme, forgo the mints wrapped in tulle by treating your guests to chocolates shaped like seashells. (For the budget-minded, use do-it-yourself candy molds and prepackaged candy mixes). For an Autumn Harvest theme, decorate with bowls of apples, stalks of corn, pumpkins, gourds and pressed leaves. What remains after the wedding day are the memories, and the photos and video when those memories begin to fade. However because of having a theme, memories will fade slower because of the uniqueness. Your guests tend to remember something for a longer period of time if there is something different about it. After the planning is done and your wedding day comes together, your guests will be delighted at taking part is something different, yet very much reflects you and your groom. Feng Shui In the Garden

By Abby Straus Spring is finally here, thanks be, and its time to get outside and enjoy the sun and the greenery. Whether you live in a tiny apartment or on a sprawling estate, incorporating Feng Shui into your garden can enliven your experience, helping you bring a deeper level of joy and peace into your life. Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) is the practice of bringing our lives into harmonious relationship with our surroundings. A great way to get started is to create living spaces that reflect back to you the qualities you would like to have in your life. These spaces act as physical, living affirmations of who you want to be and how you want to live. The garden is a wonderful place to do this, because it represents a deep, instinctive connection to the Earth and all of Nature. No matter how technological our lives have become, a part of us still yearns to be connected to the Source. Those of you without a green thumb, dont panic! There are many kinds of gardens. There are Zen gardens of stone and bamboo, water gardens (an aquarium counts), patios with pots of plants, window boxes, vegetable gardens, flower gardens… the list goes on and on. The point is that theres a garden for everyone, the possibilities confined only by the limits of your imagination. Whatever kind of garden you choose, here are some basic Feng Shui principles to get you started on the right track this year: Number one, the Prime Directive: Live with what you love. Make a list of all the things youd like to have in your gardennot just the things you know you can affordeverything! Now go back and look over the list and see what qualities these things represent. How do they speak to you? How will these things elevate your existence? Perhaps, in real life, you cant have the fabulous, eight-foot tall, hand carved statue of Kuan Yin you saw the other day, but theres surely a way to incorporate the energy of the statue. Maybe its the large scale, or the smoothness of the stone coupled with the Goddess energy. Now, how can you bring that into your own garden? Do you live in an apartment and long for the ocean? Try gathering some sea stones, sand and shells, and arrange them around a fountain. If you have a sunny window nearby, you can buy a beach rose (rosa rugosa) and put it in a beautiful pot to round out the scene. In Feng Shui, we use the five elements to represent the different aspects of life. Wherever all five occur simultaneously, there is a sense of completion, unity and power. Try incorporating all the elements into your garden: Element: Water Represents: Reflection, Introspection, Flow, Soul Purpose Use: Water itself, glass, crystal, mirrors, dark colors, asymmetrical shapes, northerly direction, the tortoise. Element: Wood Represents: Creativity, Strength, Growth, Health & Family Use: All plants and flowers (including dried and silk), greens and blues, items made of wood, columnar shapes, easterly direction, the dragon. Element: Fire Represents: Inspiration, Joy, Emotion, Fame & Reputation, Abundance Use: A fireplace, reds and red tones, lighting, candles, images of animas, things made of animals (bones, feathers, etc.), triangle, pyramid, cone, southerly direction, the phoenix. Element: Earth Represents: Center, Solidity, Receptivity, Nurturing Use: Soil, brick, ceramics, tile, stucco, yellows and earthtones, square and rectangular shapes, the center, Element: Metal Represents: Communication, Heaven, Helpful People & Travel Use: All metals, rock and stone, natural crystals, white and pastels, arches, circles, ovals, westerly direction, the tiger. As you can see, you have lots of choices and room for creativity. Again, choose what you find pleasing. In Feng Shui, we understand that energy flows most harmoniously around smooth and curving shapes. Wherever possible, avoid sharp corners on walls, flower beds, etc. Dont worry if youve just finished building neatly squared-off beds or walls. You can cut the points off of the corners, or place round pots of flowers where the points meet your most frequent path of movement. Soft, flowing greenery can be planted to mitigate pointiness as well. When do you have the most time to enjoy your garden? Is it early morning or in the evening after work? If you have the most time after dark, why not install some low voltage lighting and make a magical night garden where you can relax with candles and night-scented flowers? Do you enjoy traditional gardening: weeding, pruning, deadheading flowers? If you do, go for it. If not, be sure to use plants that are low maintenance and choose perennials over annuals. Perhaps you should consider ground covers instead of a big lawn. The one big NO in the garden is guilt. So create something thats compatible with your personality. Your garden can and should be a sanctuary, a place to revitalize your body, your mind and your spirit. One of the basic tenets of Feng Shui is that everything is constantly changing. If you have a garden that you see from inside your home, think about planning it for winter as well as summer beauty. Many plants are just as lovely without leaves as with them. Statuary and sculpture change their look as the backdrop of the garden changes, and evergreens remind us that life still exists, even in deepest February. Another thing to remember is that you are constantly changing as well. What thrilled you in your garden last year may not work at all for you this spring. Go ahead, move things around, trade plants with your friends, shake it up! Youre growing, youre moving forward. And every year you have a fresh opportunity to see your beauty, your strength and your magnificence reflected back to you in your garden. Consistency and Weight Loss

By Bill Nadraszky Consistency is the key to weight loss. I was reading through an article today and thinking about exactly what it is that really stops people that are looking at a real solution to weight loss. I believe that the key really is consistency. Consistent meals One of the most important things that you can do with your health in general is to keep a nice even keel with respect to your blood sugar. When you eat a donut and coffee for breakfast and then nothing until lunch then you will get a big blood sugar spike and then a drop soon after and be just dragging your way until lunch. If you eat consistently small but evenly spaced meals every couple of hours during the day then you will not have this blood sugar problem. Consistent meal sizes If you make sure that you eat 200 400 calorie meals then this will go hand in hand with the point above. Having even sized meals will mean that you are not bloated after one meal and then hungry after the next. Of course there may be a problem with dinner being a little bigger and an evening meal being a little smaller but overall this consistent eating will make you feel much better and your weight losses will be more consistent. Consistent exercise I know some people that will exercise a lot on the weekend but get nearly no exercise during the week. This is really quite dangerous. If your body is not being exercised at least somewhat on a daily basis then these big events on the weekends can be damaging to your muscles and also lead to more injuries because of the stress you are putting the muscles through. Much better to have a quick workout in the morning and evening and then still push it on the weekend, then to takes four or five days off in a stretch and not get any exercise until Saturday. Consistent rest I have hit on this a few times in the past and rest is important to your well being as well as the healing of your muscles after exercise. Stretch daily, sleep well most nights and if you need it a hot tub, heating pad, or massage can do wonders to get rid of those little aches and pains that may not be going away quickly and holding yopu back a bit from going all out when you want to. Remember that consistency is the key. As we get ready for Christmas and then make new years resolutions later this month we are always looking at pushing ourselves or pulling back so try to think about this and make sure that you keep your consistency. The History of Antibiotics

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Russell] Michael Russell Almost everyone has used an antibiotic like penicillin or Terramycin at one time or another. You may have tried using an antibiotic ointment for bad cuts or scrapes, or your doctor may have prescribed antibiotics to help you get over fever, boils, pneumonia and other infections. Antibiotics work very well against so many infections that they are often called “miracle drugs”. But the more accurate name for them would be “microbe drugs” for that is what antibiotics really are. Antibiotics are essentially chemicals that helped kill or stop the growth of certain germs and bacteria. It comes from two Greek words meaning “against life”. More than 3000 years ago, Asian peoples had already stumbled on molds that could cure certain afflictions. The Indians of Central America as well the Chinese used molds to treat infected wounds in rashes however, they did not understand either diseases or treatments in the way we do now. Many of them thought in terms of magic and spiritualism, so they simply believed that molds drove away evil spirits that cause the disease. As time passed, men had slowly gained some more knowledge of disease. True understanding began only in recent times. In the 1860s, a French scientist Louis Pasteur proved that many diseases were caused by bacteria and concluded that man could learn to fight these bacteria using other bacteria. Two German doctors, Rudolf Emmerich and Oskar Low, were the first men to make an effective medicine from microbes. Among other things, they successfully proved that the germ that causes one disease can also cure another. The two men took germs from infected bandages and grew them in test tubes. They managed to isolate a vicious germ that caused the green coloring in infected and opened wounds. This bacterium was the Bacillus pyocyaneus. When the doctors placed some of these bacteria into test tubes containing other germs, the Bacillus pyocyaneus would wipe the other germs out. The good news was the other bacteria it managed to wipe out were the bacteria that caused cholera, diphtheria, anthrax and typhoid fever. Emmerich and Low began to use Bacillus pyocyaneus to make”pyocyanase”. This would be the first antibiotic to be used in hospitals, but unfortunately it was ahead of its time. Nobody knew how to control its production or how the chemical worked. It was also noticed that the medicine did not have the same effect on all patients. While some people got better, others only became sicker. So pyocyanase was eventually abandoned. Other scientists continued to look for a safe and effective antibiotic, but it was only in the summer of 1928 that a research scientist named Alexander Fleming would produce the first real breakthrough in antibiotic medicine. While studying the germ called Staphylococcus aureaus (which causes a number of ailments that lead to brain disease) he noticed that the molds in one of his petri dishes became spoiled. He noticed that around the spot of mold was a germ-free ring of gelatin that meant the mold had killed the germs around it. He did more research and eventually called it penicillin. An American, Dr. Selman Waksman, discovered streptomycin which proved to be effective against diseases that penicillin could not cure, such as the bubonic plague. At around the same time, sulfa drugs came about. The drug was a chemical that had been found in a substance used to make dyes. These were powerful weapons against disease but had serious drawbacks. It was then found that sulfa drugs did not kill germs but rather weakened germs, which gave the body a chance to defend itself. Research scientists then began a worldwide search for the most helpful soil microbes. One laboratory discovered Aureomycin and that does the work of both penicillin and streptomycin. Another laboratory discovered Chloromycetin, which was proven effective against typhus, whooping cough and typhoid. In 1949, an Indiana laboratory discovered Terramycin, now considered to be one of the most effective antibiotics ever found because of it’s wide effect on so many bacterial diseases. Even so, the search goes on. Drug companies continue to seek new antibiotics in nature and their chemists are now making synthetic antibiotics. Since it is very difficult for a chemist to imitate the work done by microbes, most antibiotics nowadays are semi-synthetic. Chloromycetin, cycloserine and a synthetic tetracycline were the first few antibiotics that have been produced entirely by man. Rituxan Side Effects – Rituxan Lawyer & Lawsuit Attorneys

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Todd_Going] Todd Going The Food and Drug Administration alerted medical healthcare professionals to a warning about the drug Rituxan. Rituxan is approved to treat rheumatoid arthritis and non-Hodgkins lymphoma, but many doctors have discovered that it is an effective treatment for other conditions that have similar autoimmune characteristics such as systemic lupus erythematosus, or SLE. Unfortunately, these treatments are not intended by the drug manufacturer, IDEC Pharmaceuticals, and a number of people began to suffer severe and unanticipated side effects. Perhaps the most serious of these side effects is called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, or PML. Rituxan prevents the body from producing a type of white blood cell called a B cell. These cells are parts of the immune system, but in some people these naturally occurring cells actually attack their own body, causing a number of serious conditions. When Rituxan prevents B cells from forming, it lowers the effectiveness of the immune systems and increases the likelihood of infection and disease, which is why Rituxan is only used in extreme circumstances where other treatments have failed. Some doctors use Rituxan in off-label uses to treat other diseases not intended by the manufacturer. This has lead to a number or Rituxan users to develop a disease called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, or PML. This progressive and deadly disease affects the brain and central nervous system and has been linked to 23 Rituxan-related deaths. Early warning sign of PML include: Dizziness Loss of Balance Vision difficulties Difficulty speaking Difficuly walking Confusion PML is difficult to detect because its symptoms are often confused with the conditions it is trying to help, there is no effective treatment, and the disease is usually fatal. Craft Fairs, Bazaars & Flea Markets…Oh, My!

By Anita DeFrank Many names are associated with events such as these. Craft Fairs, Bazaars, Flea Markets and Swap Meets are a few names you can find. Whatever the namethey all mean the same thing. They allow you to meet new and interesting people (hopefully customers), spend quality time with your family and more of course most importantly make some extra cash. But, before you debut your first table at one of these events, getting yourself prepared is the first step. The following is a guideline you can follow to help make sure you’re ready. 1. First of course you’ll want to find events that are held in your area. This is about the easiest task of all. You’re sure to find them everywhere. Check you local newspaper, browse bulletin boards, and watch for fliers. 2. Next, attend a few local events yourself. Take a look around and view things from a customer’s point of view. Which tables caught your eye first and why? What sort of products/merchandise is being carried? Most importantly, what’s isn’t there? Try to visualize how you’d like your table to look. 3. Once you’ve found the event you’d like to attend, reserve your table. Most events have an event manager. Find out who’s in charge and contact them. Pricing will vary from one event to the next. Be sure to find out the average attendance to make sure it’s worth the money. Don’t forget to ask questions such as the availability of electricity (if needed), the size of your “booth”, anything forbidden? 4. Make sure you have enough inventory. Stock up on catalogs, brochures and business cards. Make a list of all the supplies you’ll need. Are you going to have samples available? You can find a printable check-list at http://www.mommyshelperonline.com/event-checklist.zip. 5. Decide what types of payments are going to be accepted. Are you only accepting cash? Do you have the ability to accept credit cards? Are you going to take checks? Does your bank accept check from customers out of the area? 6. Make a lead box. Lead boxes can be a great way to gain a mailing list, future or even repeat customers. One thing you can do with you lead box is hold a contest. An easy way to make a lead box is to take an ordinary cardboard box, cover it in decorative contact paper and cut a slit in the top. Print out entry forms with blanks for name, address, phone number and email address. Of course if you offer catalog parties or home parties, be sure to have a place asking if they’re interested in holding one. 7. Set up your display at home to get a feel of how it will look at the event. By doing this you can take your time in arranging and re-arranging your display so you’ll be ready for the event. The look and feel of your display has a large impact on your sales. 8. Recruit family members. You can make your events more family-friendly by assigning everyone a job. Spouses are great for helping un-loading and loading your merchandise, setting up and tearing down your display. Spouse also come in handy to “watch your table” if you need to step away. Smaller children can help bag/box up products that are sold, hand out business cards and catalogs or even meet and greet customers. Don’t forget to bring along some fun things for children incase of the dreaded boredom. 9. Put on a smile. Don’t just sit behind your table looking bored. Smile and greet visitors as they walk by or more importantly “stop in”. Ask them if they’re enjoying the event, how they’re doing. Be friendly. 10. Have fun! Wedding Dress Sizes And Ideas

By Victor Epand Firstly, there are different weights of satin. Go for something nice and lightweight. The simpler cuts do tend to be made from lighter fabrics to add to the simplicity, they also hang better without looking too stiff. Mermaid (or fishtail) style would be perfect. Go for a 1 piece gown as a 2 piece or separates can cut a figure in half. Also, look at the fitting of the skirt. For a petite frame, go for a skirt that flares out from mid thigh at the lowest. This will make you look taller and balance your figure. They’re also easier to walk in! If you go for a flare which is lower, more towards the knee, this will make you look too ’rounded’ and can look stunting. I would stick to a light satin as they hold their shape better. As chiffon is so light, the cut tends to be more fitted and may not hang right on a petite lady. If you find the satin look is too much, go for something with a delicate lace overlay. Try some princess line gowns as well. These scoop in at the waist and flare out just above the hip. A gown with a gentle rather than fuller a-line skirt can be very flattering whilst hiding any lumps and bumps. It’s great to hear that you want to show off your figure, I’ve seen many Brides hide behind big dresses and I think it’s a shame. It is unusual and rare but I have seen other colors and I am not talking about off white. The dresses were just like a typical one but dyed to various colors or else just plain made with color material. I have seen pink, black and dark blue. I think there was one or two more but that is about it. It also makes me think of the time when the bride and her mother had matching dresses except the mothers was white and the bride was pink. I’d recommend going for a one-piece with a ‘rushed’ waist. Mori Lee have a lovely dress style 5507 – this has a lace-up back for a bit more freedom and the rushed waist brings the waist in and gives you shape. Try a top and skirt or a separates look dress with a boned bodice. These hold you in all in the right places. Sincerity does a nice one – look on their website and you’ll find a couple with the off-the-shoulder sleeves. However, before you decide on a skirt and blouse(this may be a comfort thing with you), don’t rule out a wedding dress. There are some companies out there that do make all kinds of wedding dress to fit almost any size all you would have to do is look. Also, many bridal shops will be having sample sales as well. Consider an “A”line dress. There are many styles that look good on someone who is petite. I don’t know what you consider “overweight”, but look on the internet by Signature Plus. This will give you an idea of styles. Depending on at time your wedding is will also dictate what you wear. If it’s early in the day, a skirt (long) and blouse would be okay, however, if it’s later in the day and reception is after 5pm, you really need something more formal. Look up a good seamstress. Ask your local fabric store for recommendations and visit with her. They will be able to help you select a style that will look beautiful on you and you’ll feel comfortable wearing. You may also be able to spend less by having a dress made for you. If you haven’t visited any bridal shops yet, do, if only to try on some dresses and see how the style looks.
